Catherine Cheesman, age 65, of Rock Camp Run Road, Tanner, West Virginia, formerly of New Jersey and Washington State, departed this life on Thursday night, February 26, 2015 at her residence, following an extended illness.
Born December 9, 1949 in Millville, New Jersey, daughter of the late Michael and Marie (Torelli) Sposato.
Catherine was a graduate of Millville High School, class of 1967. She was a former employee at Chammings Electric in New Jersey, and retired from Randle Woods of Washington State, in December 2013.
Catherine was a Catholic by faith. She enjoyed singing, dancing, shopping, laughing, and she smiled all the time. Catherine was a big animal person, who loved her cats and dogs. She also loved spending time with her husband and family.
On September 17, 1988, she was united in marriage to Gilbert Cheesman, who survives at their Tanner home.
Surviving are 4 children, Stephen King of Pennsylvania, Tammy Petit and husband Librato of New Jersey, Dusty Cheesman and husband Richard of New Jersey, and Tim Cheesman of Florida; 6 grandchildren, Kyle King, Sherry Petit, Janelle Petit, and Jaclyn Petit of New Jersey, Alexis Cheesman of Florida, and Christina Cheesman of Kentucky; 2 great grandchildren, Gianna Phillips and Shane King of New Jersey, and 1 brother, John Sposato of Louisiana.
Also surviving is her new West Virginia family, Clyde, Peggy, and Allen Wade of Tanner, and Kevin, Melissa, and Devin Paxon also of Tanner.
Along with her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by 1 brother, Michael Sposato.
Catherine's request for cremation has been honored, and the family will have an outdoor memorial service at a later date.
