Martha Ann Hiney, age 96, of Hiney Hill Road, Linn, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Genesis Health Care Center, Glenville, following an extended illness.
Born July 4, 1918 in Braxton County, Martha was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Elma Opal Spore Exline.
Martha was a homemaker and Methodist by faith. She was always known as a sweet caring women and an amazing cook. Martha loved gardening, flowers, cooking, Bible study, spending time with family and friends, and the hard work and pleasure of farm life.
On August 17, 1941 she was united in marriage to Russell Hiney, who preceded her in death on November 3, 2002. Martha and Russell had 61 wonderful years together.
Surviving is 1 daughter, Lauretta Joan Massey and husband Lawrence of Canton, Michigan; and 1 grandson, Richard Lee Wagner and companion Gary Moy of Reseda, California; 1 sister, Anna Mae Robinson of Buckhannon WV, 1 sister-in-law, Cora (Exline) Irby of Nutter Fort; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, Martha was preceded in death by 1 sister Cora (Exline) Linger; 3 brothers, James, William and Eugene Exline; and 2 half brothers, Grant and Edward Exline.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiney Cemetery on Hiney Hill Rd. Linn, WV. Friends and family may call from 5-7 p.m. Monday night at the Mortuary.
