COMMISSION WILL HEAR FRONTIER REPORT ON CALHOUN LANDLINE PROBLEMS TODAY - Five-Forks-Big Springs Customers Outraged About Longtime Problem

A meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today with Frontier Communications and the Calhoun Commission, set by the West Virginia Public Service Commission.

That meeting had been scheduled so Frontier could review the completion and fixes to a longtime land-line disconnect problem in the Five Forks-Big Springs.

Frontier has been working on fixing the long-time problem since the commission filed a formal complaint eight months ago. The meeting is still on in the commission meeting room in Grantsville.

Five Forks-Big Springs residents have indicated they want to attend the hearing, since basic phone service as worsened in the area,

The Calhoun Commission denied Frontier's request to drop the formal complaint the county filed eight months ago.

Two previous deadlines regarding the fix have come and gone.

One of the top news stories for 2014 on the Hur Herald, was citizen activism leading to a formal compliant being filed against Frontier.

The problem is antiquated equipment at sub-stations.
