BULLETS FLY - Neighbors on Charleston's west side say they're lucky to be alive after bullets ripped through an apartment complex over the weekend.
They woke up around 4 a.m. to gunfire.
Eight bullet holes were seen on the side of the apartment building. Some of them broke glass, and others went through walls.
A man who lived in the apartment, Shymel Collins, told media he just happened to be in a home along Delaware Avenue several weeks ago where another shooting took place.
"It could have been several people dead," said Algernon Tynch. "It could have been at least four or five people dead."
Police are continuing to investigate.
GAULEY BRIDGE HEIST - The man responsible for an armed robbery late Thursday night at the Little General store along U.S. 60 in Gauley Bridge remains at large.
A store employee told deputies the man was armed with a small dark-colored handgun, his face masked and wearing gloves.
The man had placed some type of padding inside of his clothing to appear larger and further disguise his appearance.
The employee said the suspect appeared to be attempting to disguise his voice by speaking in what sounded like a Middle Eastern accent.
The man got away with some cash.
Investigators believe this robbery may be connected to a previous robbery at the Go-Mart located along U.S. 60 in Alloy.
