ANMORE SHOOTING - West Virginia State Police
say Chief Don Quinn of the Anmoore Police Department responded to a domestic dispute at an apartment complex.
Chief Quinn knocked on the apartment door, and discovered the door was slightly opened and quickly shut by a male suspect in the apartment.
After the door was shut, the suspect shot himself with a rifle, and the bullet passed through a wall and struck Chief Quinn in the elbow.
Chief Quinn believed he was being fired at and returned fire, state police said.
The suspect, believed to be 18-years-old, was dead at the scene. A female victim was at the scene as well, but was not seriously injured.
Chief Quinn was taken to United Hospital Center in Bridgeport for treatment. Quinn has since been released.
