Two men reportedly received serious injuries Wednesday night on the Right Fork of Crummies Creek during an altercation, according to reports from neighbors.
Billy Ray Hardway, according to the criminal complaint, was attacked by two men who cut the electric service to his house. Hardway was taken to a medical center to be treated for multiple injuries to his head and other injuries.
Sr. Trooper D. C. Moore says that Hardway, while investigating the disruption of his electric service, was "jumped" by two males.
Hardway, in the complaint, says one of the men "got him in a choke hold and pulled him backwards to the ground, and wrapped his legs around him."
In the complaint, Hardway said one of the men hit him in the head with a log, causing a large gash on his head.
Hardway then said that he got out a pocket knife and stabbed his attacker in the right side and back side, the attacker was likely identified in the criminal complaint as Ryan Abramovich.
Hardway, according to neighbors, managed to leave his residence with "bloody injuries" to his head and walk the rural road some distance to reach a telephone and call an ambulance.
Abramovich and Hardway were reportedly taken to medical centers, one by chopper.
State Police arrested Adam Lee Parsons, 34, of Arnoldsburg, who was involved in the affray, arresting him for malicious assault, wounding, and battery. He is in Central Regional Jail with bond set at $5,000.
The reason behind the incident was not indicated in the criminal complaint.
