WOOD MAN ARRESTED IN MURDER OF GIRLFRIEND - Dakota Mackey was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court Sunday afternoon for the shooting death of a Parkersburg woman early Sunday morning.
The victim is 20-year-old Dallas White, who died at the scene from a gun shot wound to the chest.
When officers arrived on scene they were confronted by Mackey and said he would not comply with officers commands.
Police noticed a loaded pistol lying on the bed next to the victim.
Officers tried to render aid to White but said Mackey would not leave the bedroom and they had to forcibly remove him, at times fighting with the officers.
Police are saying after several interviews it was discovered Mackey had delivered a prescription pill to the victim and a short time later, Mackey and White took the narcotic.
Police said Mackey is the boyfriend of White and they have two children together.
Mackey is charged with murder and possession of marijuana with intent to distibute. He is currently being held in North Central Regional Jail with bond at $200,000.
HOLD-UP SUSPECTS COULD BE CONNECTED TO MURDER - Kanawha sheriff's deputies are searching for three men involved in an armed robbery and a couple of attempted robberies in Sissonville Saturday.
Three men entered the BP store with a sawed-off shot gun and a pistol and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk got away and called 911.
The accused robbers then stole a wallet from a customer in the store and tried to snatch a purse in the parking lot.
Deputies say they fled in a dark green minivan, believed to be either a Dodge Caravan or Chrysler Town and Country with an Ohio license plate.
The men were later seen at another store in Jackson County. Investigators believe they were about to rob it as well, but were interrupted and left the store.
Police are investigating whether a suspect involved in the incidents Saturday night is the same suspect that law enforcement officers in Ohio are looking for in connection to a double murder.
One of the robbery suspects could be Robert Clark, 29, from Dennison, Ohio.
The Ohio Attorney General's office says Clark and Jeffery Stewart, 21, are responsible for the deaths of Doyle Chumney, 88, and Lillian Chumney, 79, of Strasburg, Ohio.
Doyle and Lillian were reported missing January 21st, and their bodies were discovered in their burned vehicle the next day in Bakersville, Ohio.
