PAINT THE TOWN BLUE DAY FEBRUARY 19TH - Recognizing Our Law Enforcement Community

(02/04/2015)
Homes and offices across the state will go blue on Thursday, February 19th, in support of our law enforcement officers - will yours?

Orchestrated by the West Virginia Auxiliary of the Wives Behind the Badge support group and supported locally by the Calhoun County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, the Paint the Town Blue event calls for businesses and residents to display blue ribbons, blue lights, blue signs, or any other blue decorations to show your gratitude and recognition for our law enforcement community.

Calhoun County Prosecuting Attorney Shannon Johnson encourages the community to show its support for the officers who risk their lives every day to make our county a better place to work and live. Mrs. Johnson says, "Let's rally around our officers to show them we appreciate all they do for us."

Anyone and everyone can participate. Place a blue lightbulb in your front porch light; hang a blue ribbon on your door; wear blue clothing or wear a blue ribbon; place a blue sign or any other decorations out that let our officers know we are thinking of them. Anything to help Paint the Town Blue! Mrs. Johnson also says she hopes to have blue ribbons available at her office beginning February 1. If you are interested in picking up a ribbon, visit her office in the Courthouse.

Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. is dedicated to providing resources and emotional support to law enforcement families and to serving as a positive voice for law enforcement in the community.
