Applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program will be accepted by the state Department of Health and Human Resources through Feb. 6.
Eligibility is based on income, household size and whether the household is responsible for paying the heating bill. In order to be eligible, household income must be at or below 130 percent of the federal poverty guideline.
For example, the monthly income limit is $2,584 for a family of four, or $3,464 for a family of six.
Applications are available at local DHHR offices, community action agencies, senior centers operated by any Area Agency on Aging or at www.wvinroads.org. Seniors also can find information at the Area Agency on Aging website www.needhelppayingbills.com.
