| Esther Jane Polin, 91, of Spencer, West Virginia died January 26, 2015 at the Miletree Center in Spencer where she had been a resident for several years.
She was born August 23, 1923 in Roane County, West Virginia a daughter of the late Jasper and Bertha Tanner Greathouse. She was a homemaker and worked at Harry and Elle Ellison's gas station from time to time. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Reedy, West Virginia.
She is survived by one daughter, Edna Ruth Sommerville of Reedy; one son, Alvin Roy Polin also of Reedy; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jackson Polin; an infant daughter, Freda Ann Polin; one brother, Jasper Greathouse; and two sisters, Viola Swisher and Mamie White.
Service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Walton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is two hours prior to the service at the church. TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, is in charge of arrangements. |
