Gettysburg Address Memorial
The Calhoun County Committee On Aging went on a "Pennsylvania History" tour October 14-16. The tour was
co-sponsored by the Lights On!
Forty-five local residents boarded a World Travel Services tour bus early Monday morning to enjoy this excursion. Sue
Lawson, the tour guide from WTS was a joyful addition to the group. Her knowledge, tips and organizational skills are
unparalleled.
The trip included tours of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania Amish Farms and the Hershey Chocolate Factory. The highlight of the tour
was the play, "Daniel", performed on Tuesday night at the Millennium Theatre in Strasburg, PA. Everyone who saw the play
said that it was amazing. The special effects were extraordinary, you felt as if you were at a Hollywood production. Many
said you couldn't explain it; you have to experience the play for yourself. Needless to say, may of the travelers would like to
return to see another production. The theatre begins playing "The Miracle of Christmas" during the holiday season.
The lucky travelers were: Eva Collins, Betty Curry, Pearle Johnson, Delma Kemper, Grace Richards, Pat Radabaugh, Nelma
McClung, Eva Clegg, Jean Stalnaker, Sharon Gherke, Waneda Greathouse, Rosalee White, Chloe Alfred, Juanita Boggs,
Colleen Burdette, Alta Mae Richards, Sandra Richter, Walter Kerby, Betty Kerby, Jean Cronin, Brenda Sisson, Sue Boothe,
Bill Stevens, JoAnn Stevens, Duane Poling, Willadene Poling, Dora Starcher, Glayda Stump, Jim Arthur, Sue Arthur, Evelyn
McCormick, Jim McCormick, Muriel McCormick, Walter McCormick, Harold Richards, Euell Russell, Orva Parsons,
Loretta Stevens, Judy Bowman, Joan Auvil, Elva Yoak, Irene Conrad, Jean Boggs, Mike Ritchie and Teresa Ritchie.
Keep watching for information on additional tours in 2003. We thank the county for supporting the activities and services
offered by the CCCOA and the Lights On! Project.
