Jennings retired from the Carpenter's Union in West Virginia and Ohio receiving his 50 year pin. He was a member of the Minnora United Methodist Church. He was a member of the WV Draft Horse and Mule Association for years. He thoroughly enjoyed his draft horses owning two different teams; Duke and Doc and Vic and Roc. He did a ride with his team from Maybe, WV to the Shafer Ride at Amma, WV then returning home one year. What an enjoyable time he had.
Jennings never met a stranger, enjoyed going to the stock pens when he was able. He especially enjoyed sharing his love and experience with animals with his great grandson Jacob Watkins. His knowledge and old tales will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg, WV Monday, January 19, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Tim Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellison Cemetery on his farm at Orma. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 6:00-8:00 pm.
The family would like to thank Roane County Family Health Care, Brian Baker PAC and Carroll Christiansen, MD, Roane County Home Health and Housecalls Hospice of Parkersburg, WV for all their assistance during this illness and trying time. A special thanks to all those who prayed, visited and called to show the love and concern for Jennings and his family. Your thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.
