Delmer Ray McKown, 74, of Parkersburg W.Va. passed away on January 14, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.
He was born October 14. 1940, in Roane Co., W.Va., a son of the late Chester and Alva Husk McKown.
He retired from Winans Sanitary and worked for the City of Parkersburg Sanitation Dept. He enjoyed doing mechanic work and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Charlotte Ruble McKown; two daughters, Melissa (Christopher) Carpenter of Parkersburg and Teresa McEwuen of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; one sister, Mary Hardman of Spencer, W.Va.; one brother, Chester McKown of Orriville, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Chelsea McEwuen, Braden McEwuen, Sasha Johnson, Cody Johnson, Christopher Carpenter and Justun Carpenter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters; and 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, at 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church with Pastor Tim Burch officiating. Interment will follow at Big Tygart Cemetery, Rockport. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 800 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg and one hour prior to services at the church.
