Betty Wayne Wilson, 85, of Vienna W.Va. went to be with the Lord, on Jan. 14, 2015, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
She was born April 24, 1929, in Beech, W.Va., the daughter of the late Orlando H. and Ruby Price Wayne.
Betty graduated from Calhoun High School in 1947 and Marshall University in 1972. She retired as an elementary school teacher in Wood and Ritchie counties. She loved their West Virginia mountain cabin and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved watching the WV Mountaineers and Steelers Football. She was a member of Wayside United Methodist Church in Vienna, Agape Fellowship, and Order of the Eastern Star.
Betty is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Doyle (Charles) of Vienna, and Valerie Borthwick (John) of Snowmass Village, Colo.; one son, James L. Wilson, Jr. (Linda) of Terra Alta, W.Va.; one sister, Virginia Hall (Gareld) of Taylors, S.C.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dr. James L. Wilson; and a brother, Billy Joe Wayne.
A memorial service officiated by Rev. Greg Markins will be held for Betty at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 19, at Wayside United Methodist Church in Vienna, with visitation one hour before the service at the church. Inurnment at the Clover Cemetery in Roane County, W.Va., will take place at a later date.
