RITCHIE AUTHORITIES ARREST ADAM ANDREW JONES VIOLATING HOME CONFINEMENT AFTER DRUG TEST - Attempted Murder Case Set For Plea Hearing In Harrisville

UPDATE 3/17/15 - Ritchie authorities arrested Adam Andrew Jones and incarcerated him in North Central Regional Jail for violation of home confinement.

Judge Timothy Sweeney issued the order, according to court records, after Jones tested positive for meth and alcohol was found at his residence by authorities, a violation of his release terms.

Jones had been scheduled for trial after being indicted in Ritchie County with attempted murder, malicious assault, domestic battery and abduction, related to severe trauma allegedly inflicted on his wife, Deanna Nelson Jones.

Jones is now scheduled for a hearing in Harrisville on March 19 related to a plea request.

ORIGINAL STORY - The attempted murder case against Adam Drew Jones, 29, of Big Springs, has been set for a pretrial scheduling hearing in Harrisville at 1 p.m. on January 17, according to Ritchie County Prosecutor Steve Jones.

The case will likely go to trial in March.

Jones is being represented by Parkersburg attorney Bill Merryman.

Jones was indicted in Ritchie County with attempted murder, malicious assault, domestic battery and abduction, related to severe trauma allegedly inflicted on his wife, Deanna Nelson Jones, about 30.

Deana Nelson Jones was sentenced to one to five years in the state penitentiary last October for exposure of children to the manufacture of methamphetamine, a felony.

Jones' attempted murder case was transferred to Ritchie County from Calhoun after it was discovered the incident happened in Ritchie, a few feet from the Calhoun line.
