Virginia Roland Blackwell, 80, of Walton, WV, died December 31, 2014, at home.
She was born June 14, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pa., a daughter of the late Grenville Spear and Virginia Roland Elliott.
Ms. Blackwell was a former employee of the Museum of Natural History and the Chewing Gum Factory both in Philadelphia. She was a horse trainer and an animal enthusiast. Also, she was a 40 year survivor of Guillain-Barre syndrome.
Survivors include a son, Peter M. Blackwell of Onley, Va.; brothers, Martin Wilcox and Peter Wilcox both of Williamsburg, Va.; sisters, Sarah Wilcox of Gloucester, Va. and Martha Galiber, of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; one step granddaughter.
There will be no visitation or funeral.
