Betty Rae Gregg, 75, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Jackson General Hospital.
She was born on August 21, 1939 in Spencer, WV to parents Oley and Dorothy (Mace) Blosser.
Betty married Robert Gregg on September 26, 1969. She was a long-time employee and retired from the Kellwood Company. In the 1960's she also worked at the Phil D. Phillips Drug Store. Betty's smile and servant heart touched many lives and will be missed.
She was saved and baptized at the Hundley Chapel Methodist Church previously on Charles Fork. Since 1966 she has been an active part and member of the Spencer Church of the Nazarene. In addition to many other roles, she has worked in the nursery of the church for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Etta Mae Blosser, Nancy Lee Bradbary and Shirley Ann Fisher; niece, Michele Hackney; and nephew Brian Marock.
Betty is survived by children Robin (Jeff) Mace of Parkersburg, WV, Barry (Darlene) Gregg of Ravenswood, WV, Terry Blosser of Hamilton, OH and Crystal (Shane) Burgel of Cable, OH; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one sister Linda Lou Wolfe of Apple Creek, OH; and a host of very special friends.
The funeral will be at the Spencer Church of the Nazarene on Sunday, January 11, at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, at the Taylor Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer.
As a fitting tribute to Betty, a nursery remodeling fund has been set up at the Spencer Church of the Nazarene (754 Parkersburg Rd., Spencer, WV 25276) for those wishing to make a monetary donation in her memory.
