21-year-old Russell Lynch of Mt. Zion, formerly of
Virginia Beach, has recorded his own composition, a ballad called "Long Lonely
Road." Lynch's song is now on the IndieWorld chart of independent country artists in
35th place.
Lynch, the son of Ron Lynch, the grandson of Madaline Stutler Lynch and the late
Russell Lynch of Mt. Zion, has composed dozens of songs, some of which are now
being recorded.
The country singer has a unique voice that captures the listener, full of life and
inspiration. "My musical influences have been Bob Dylan, Tom T. Hall and Johnny
Cash," he said. His songs reflect some of these artists, but they are new and
personal.
His folks said he started singing before he could talk, coming from a long-line of
Calhoun artisans, musicians and storytellers.
