Grantsville - Minnie Hamilton Health System and the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) met with Steve Whited and Sandra Ellis (see above November 7th to write a dedication message for a rose that appeared on the Donate Life Float in the 2015 Rose Parade in Pasadena CA, on New Years Day.
Minnie Hamilton CEO, Steve Whited, penned the handwritten message on the vial to express his unique, personal message of hope and remembrance to honor organ donors, recipients and those touched by organ, tissue and cornea donation. Dedicating the rose to recent kidney recipient Mike Yoak of Big Bend, WV who received his kidney May 28th, 2014 at Charleston Area Medical Center.
The theme of the 12th annual Donate Life Rose Parade float was "The Never-Ending Story," featuring butterflies emerging from storybooks to symbolize the enduring power of organ, tissue and cornea donation and transplantation.
