| The Centers for Disease Control has declared the flu at an epidemic level nationwide.
Twenty-two states across the country have high flu activity, including Ohio and Kentucky, with WV's "moderate activity" increasing during the past week.
The Cabell-Huntington Health Department said nearly 700 cases of the flu were reported during the week just before Christmas.
Doctors said it's an aggressive year for the virus, and that means everyone needs to be aggressive about how they protect themselves.
