Florence Turkus, 93, of Reedy, West Virginia died December 27, 2014 at home.
She was born March 10, 1922 in Keasbey, New Jersey a daughter of the late Edward and Olga Kress Fitz.
She lived all of her life in Fords, New Jersey prior to moving to Reedy this year. She was a homemaker and enjoyed shoveling snow, puzzle books and reading.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law with whom she made her home, Thomas and Barbara Turkus of Reedy; three daughters, Lydia Kruysman and her husband, Melvin, of Punta Gorda, Florida, Paulette Kotomski of Monroe Township, New Jersey, and Diane Dudik and her husband, Joseph, of The Villages, Florida; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Turkus; and a son-in-law, Wallace Kotomski.
Per her request, the body was cremated. A private memorial service will take place at a later date at the discretion of the family with Rev. Robert Rebeck officiating. Her ashes will be buried in the Alpine Cemetery in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers and if desired, donations may be made to Rev. Robert Rebeck, 1231 North 14th Street, Whitehall, PA 18052.
