HOMELESS CHILDREN NUMBERS RISING IN WEST VIRGINIA

(11/25/2014)
The Children's Home Society says there are four-thousand children who are homeless in West Virginia, but the numbers are really much higher.

They are children who don't have beds to sleep on or roofs over their head.

Janet Richmond, director of Children's Home Society, says the number one reason children are homeless is because of dysfunction at home.

"Conflict at home, with 50% of children identified as homeless saying their parents kicked them out or knew they were leaving and didn't try to stop them."
