MAN DEAD AFTER STANDOFF - A police standoff in Morgantown came to a tragic end Friday morning when a man who had barricaded himself inside a home was found dead inside.
Officers were called to a domestic situation on Inglewood Blvd at around 8 a.m.
Morgantown Police Chief Ed Preston said when officers arrived they encountered a woman and two children who had made it safely out of the house.
"She reported a despondent subject who had been upset all night long, who had barricaded himself inside the house with a firearm," said Chief Preston.
Officers set up a perimeter around the house and shutdown traffic on Inglewood Blvd. By the time officers were able to enter the home they found the man dead inside.
The medical examiner was called to the scene.
FIRES SHOTS - A man was arrested after firing multiple shots in the Sheetz gas station parking lot in Milton Friday night.
He could face up to 35 charges of wanton endangerment, police say.
Police said the suspect thought a man inside a truck had hit his wife with a vehicle. He fired seven shots at the truck.
Two adults were in the front seats, and three children were in the back seat, including a child in a car seat.
The truck had multiple bullet holes, including one that hit the car seat, police said.
No one was struck by the flying bullets.
Police said the incident happened during a hand off in a custody agreement. |
