A hearing scheduled with the Calhoun Commission, the West Virginia Public Service Commission and Frontier Communications was canceled today in Grantsville, related to the commission's formal complaint regarding Frontier's long-time land-line disruption problem in the Big Springs-Five Forks area.
The West Virginia Public Service Commission said Frontier
indicated that it was engaged in
significant construction to improve the telephone service
and
believed
that it is
less
likely
that a
hearing
would
be
necessary.
The Public Service Commission has
extended the decision due date to
April 7, 2015.
Frontier originally said the sub-station problems would be fixed by the end of the year.
Land-line customers in the greater Big Springs area have experienced frequent disruptions in land-line service for nearly three years, related to non-functioning, antiquated equipment at the sub-station.
A large number of customers, all who complained to the company, sought assistance from the Calhoun Commission, who then filed a formal complaint with the WV-PSC.
