MORGANTOWN - Morgantown residents will be getting their municipal news from a new voice in City Hall with the departure of Susan Sullivan, Public Communications Manager.
During her time at City Hall, Sullivan (right) organized the office first to serve the residents. Social media, a new website, and newsletters were established to create a more open way of reporting municipal government.
With her background in journalism, she was also able to make the office media-friendly, and help both local and student reporters get the news they needed from the city.
"Being able to serve Morgantown as the first PCM was a once-in-a-lifetime experience," said Sullivan. "I learned so much about the city I moved to ten years ago as a freshman. This job instilled in me a love and understanding of public service and honesty, and I'm looking forward to doing the same, wherever my career takes me."
Prior to her Morgantown position, she was with WBOY Television News (Channel 12) as an on-air personality/reporter.
Ms. Sullivan earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism at the P.I. School of Journalism at West Virginia University.
She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sullivan.
Sullivan's current plans are to return to Calhoun County, but she hopes to continue in municipal public affairs in the future. |
