MINNIE HAMILTON MAKES EBOLA ANNOUNCEMENT - "Remaining Vigilant"

(10/23/2014)
Minnie Hamilton Health System announced this week that staff are working diligently to assure they are prepared to recognize, quarantine, and stabilize patients that would present with possible Ebola.

"However, we do not feel that Ebola is a threat to our community at this time. We are remaining vigilant and conducting surveillance as recommended by health officials, the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention," said CEO Steve Whited, speaking for the Infection Control Committee.

"At this time, as a community it is important for those with fever, cough, and flu symptoms to try to stay home, avoid crowds, and wear a mask if symptomatic and going out. This will help prevent the spread of illness during, not only this risked outbreak, but also during flu season," Whited said.
