WIRT COUNTY CRASH SENDS WOMAN TO HOSPITAL (10/04/2014) A crash on Route 47 in Wirt County sends one woman to the hospital. The crash happened at about noon Thursday in Freeport, closing down the highway for several hours. The sheriff's office says Laura Frymer was traveling west towards Parkersburg in a Chevy Aveo when she crossed the center line, hitting the front of a dump truck. The dump truck was pulling a trailer with an excavator. Both fell on their side in the middle of the road. The driver of the dump truck has no injuries. Frymer was taken away by Camden Clark with a leg injury. That part of Route 47 was closed for about four hours and is now reopened.
