 John E. Keller, 89, husband of Betty Jane Hays, died Monday, September 8, 2014 in Kentucky.
He was born February 7, 1925 in Sisterville, WV, to the late John B. and Jamima Elizabeth King Keller.
John was a WWII veteran with the US Navy and served in 8 major engagements on his ship. He was a West Virginia University graduate and in 1959 he started his own salvage yard, Grassy Auto Parts in W. Liberty, KY.
Other than his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth (Richard) Woods of Columbus, OH; two sons, Tim Keller (Lila) of West Liberty and Steve Keller of Lexington; six grandchildren, Rich (Nicole) Woods, Jen (John) Wells, Kristin (Isaac) Allen, Erica (Justin) Perry, Cole and Sydney Keller; and three great- grandchildren, Abby Allen, Owen Carter Wells and Camryn Paige Wells.
Funeral services were held September 12 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Carpenter officiating with burial to follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
