Dolores Shears, 75 of Elizabeth WV passed away Sunday September 7, 2014 surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born May 31, 1939 to the late Clorice (Houchen) and Ronald Smith.
She was a graduate of Wirt County High school. She retired from the Dept. of Human Resources (DHHR) and attended the Southern Baptist Fellowship of Elizabeth WV. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, quilting, camping, and cooking for her family.
Dolores is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Harold Eugene Shears; 3 sons, Tim (Margie) Shears of Vienna WV, Jeff (Patrice) Shears of Elizabeth, and Travis Shears of Elizabeth; 1 daughter, Ronni (Johnny) Nemeth of Elizabeth; 7 grandchildren, Bethany Shears, Katlyn McCollum, Shawni Hill, Emry Goodwin, J.T. Nemeth, Charity and Payton Shears; 2 great grandchildren, Hayden Shears and Liam Page; along with several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by 1 brother, Danny (Darlene) Smith of Newark WV; and 1 sister, Rhonda (Rodney) Snyder of Parkersburg WV.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents Ronald and Clorice Smith.
Services will be Wednesday September 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Southern Baptist Fellowship of Elizabeth WV with Rev. Dean Ash, Rev. John Watkins, and Rev. Bob Watkins officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday September 9, 2014 4-8 p.m. at Matheny Whited Funeral home of Elizabeth WV and visitation on September 10, at 12:00 a.m. at the Southern Baptist Fellowship in Elizabeth WV.
