JAMES INDICTED FOR SHOOTING CALHOUN MAN IN HEAD

A 29-year-old Braxton County man appeared serious in shooting a Calhoun man in the forehead with a handgun in the parking lot of the Mud Fork Church.

Adam C. James, 29, of Napier, was indicted Tuesday by a Calhoun Grand Jury for the attempted murder in April of Robert King, a Stinson resident.

James is being held in Central Regional Jail with bond set at $500,000.

According to the criminal complaint signed by Trooper David Moore, during a dispute with Robert "Rob" King, about 40, of Mud Fork (Stinson Road), James "deliberately pulled out a small caliber pistol...yelling "I'm gonna kill you mother f--ker," and pulled the trigger, shooting King in the forehead.

James and another male, who has not been charged, then fled into the woods. "The defendant (James) did intentionally request a third party to retrieve his vehicle...so that the defendant (James) would not be caught," says the complaint.

King then went to his house, after which an ambulance was requested. He was taken to CAMC general, where he was treated and released.

The charges filed against James carries imprisonment, he could be incarcerated for not less than than three nor more than 15 years, if found guilty.
