| Donnie Clavel McCumbers, 84, of Rosedale, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 20, 2014.
He was born Aug. 26, 1929, in Braxton County, to the late French and Anna McCumbers.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Ivy Hall McCumbers; son, Donnie McCumbers Jr.; four brothers; and four sisters.
He was a Christian. He worked for the Town of Gassaway for many years and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a wonderful father to his seven children, Priscilla Brady (Jack) of Washington, Brenda Wade of Parkersburg, Daniel McCumbers (Patty), Dallas McCumbers (Mary) and Rachel Perrin (Jake), all of Rosedale, and David McCumbers (Lisa) of Arnoldsburg. His pride and joy were his 24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, with Pastor Roger Johnson officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Mount Run Cemetery, Rosedale. Friends may call two hours prior to service at the funeral home. |
