WED. 7:30 PM -Police are searching for a Grantsville man who fled a domestic violence dispute on Lower Pine Street Tuesday evening, Grantsville Police Chief Andy Walker said the man is wanted for attempted murder of a Baltimore MD policeman.

The suspect, who purchased a house in south Grantsville last year, moved to the area with his significant other and family members. He has been using the last name Jones.

The suspect got into an altercation with family members, some of which received minor injuries, and a 911 call was made at 6:19 p.m. for assistance, the suspect fled the scene into nearby woods.

Grantsville Police Chief Andy Walker and State Trooper Jeff Hunt responded to the scene with Minnie Hamilton EMS. At least two of the victims were taken to Minnie Hamilton for evaluation.

"There seemed to be blood on several of the occupants, although they didn't seem to be hurt that bad," a neighbor told the Hur Herald.

Victims being readied for transport to hospital

Police began a search of the area shortly after the incident, that search is continuing.

Sources said the information regarding the suspects history was apparently revealed after the dispute.

Walker said "Jones" is a black male, about 6 foot tall, weighing about 200 pounds and is in his 30s. He is wearing a t-shirt and shorts.

"Anyone spotting this individual should use caution," Walker said, and to immediately contact the Grantsville Police Department.

Chief Walker said he will be releasing a better description and more details about the incident shortly.

Authorities are meeting at the Grantsville Fire Department, to develop a "game plan," said Walker.

Police were pursing the use of tracking dogs.
