Maxine Garnet Carpenter, 86, of Gandeeville, West Virginia passed away August 15, 2014 at CAMC General Hospital in Charleston.
She was born on December 15, 1927 in Roane County, a daughter of the late Coy Ellis and Alice Rhodes. She was a former employee of the Kellwood Company in Spencer, and a member of the Gandeeville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, James "Jimmy" Carpenter and his wife Betty of Gandeeville; two sisters, Joanna Nichols of Newburgh Heights, Ohio, and Eloise Nelson of Belpre, Ohio; brother, Bud Ellis of Belpre, Ohio; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Jennifer, and Jamie; and five great-grandchildren, Zack, Kenny, Payton, Adrianna, Zander.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband Johnny "Junior" Carpenter; sister, Edna Nichols; and brother Woodrow Taylor.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer with Rev. John Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Eventide Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 6pm-8pm at the funeral home.
