| A new director for the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department has been named, Dr. Drema Mace.
Dr. Mace is a West Virginia native who currently lives in Charleston, but is moving to Wood County.
She worked for 22 years at the state bureau for public health.
She says she's looking forward to working with the local community and continuing the good work that's been going on at the department.
"Mid-Ohio Valley is the largest health system in the state and it's the innovator," she said.
Five people were interviewed, with 22 applicants.
Dick Wittberg resigned the post at the end of March.
