Sarah Virginia Hathaway Frederick, 77, of Coxs Mill, known as "Mickey" to her friends and family, passed away August 2, 2014 at her home on Leading Creek Road, Cox's Mills, WV.
Born June 16, 1937 in Grantsville, she was a daughter of the late Oral Clyde and Grace M. Miller Hathaway. Loved by all who knew her, Sarah was soft spoken and kind-hearted.
Her life revolved around her family, friends and Horn Creek Baptist Church in Cox's Mills, WV. Sarah retired as a cashier at Calhoun Banks in 2008. Her hobbies included reading and crossword puzzles and she loved gospel music and Sunday church hymns.
The ninth of ten children, Sarah is survived by four sisters, Mary Mathews of Vienna, Martha Ransom of San Bruno, CA, Patty Targgart and her husband Dr. Hudd Targgart of Atherton, CA, and Judy Gaunt and her husband Joseph Gaunt of Green Bay, WI.
Sarah is also survived by one son, Dana Gene Frederick and his wife Mikki and one daughter Dina Lea Frederick Bush and her husband Gary. Her grandchildren are Deanna Bush Palmer and husband Steve Palmer, Jordain Bush, Jared and Aaron Frederick and step grandchildren Jared and Courtney Reaser. Sarah's great grandsons are Wesley and Maxwell Palmer.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son Spec. Darren Lee Frederick, a Persian Gulf War Veteran; granddaughter Gina Marie Bush as well as five siblings.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 6, 2:00 pm at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville with Rev. Joe Sealey officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Grantsville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the services. |
