KERBY SENTENCED TO STATE PENITENTIARY ONE YEAR - Calhoun Circuit Court Dispositions

In Calhoun Circuit Court, Judge David W. Nibert ruled for a pre-sentence investigation related to Angel Bowers, who entered a guilty plea for failing to report child abuse, a misdemeanor and to intimidation of a state witness, a misdemeanor.

Bowers will be sentenced on October 2.

Leon Kerby II, 27, admitted to violating his probation and was sentenced to one year in the state penitentiary for those violations.

Kerby was indicted on one count of child abuse resulting in injury, a felony. The alleged incident occurred in April, 2013.

Nancy Hillegas admitted to violating her probation and Judge Nibert sentenced her to four days in jail.

Adam Park's drug-related case was continued to August 18th.

Judge Thomas Evans III, during court on July 21st, reinstated Cindy and Dennis McCune's bond on charges involving operation of a clandestine methamphetamine drug laboratory.

The next circuit court date is scheduled for July 29, with the Thomas Husk murder case to be heard in Mason County.
