CHARLESTON SHOOTING - Charleston detectives are investigating a robbery and shooting saying it may be drug related.
The incident Tuesday on Washington Street East, and police said the victim was shot in the hand.
TOSSES GUNS - West Virginia State Police say a driver threw two guns out the window of his truck during a police chase on I-64.
They arrested John Roberts, 38, of Kenova after he being pulled off the interstate.
According to the criminal complaint, the chase began near the 29 mile marker just before 3 p.m. when a trooper said he noticed a driver swerving several times and nearly hitting the guardrail and bridge dividers.
The troopers said when he activated his lights and sirens, the driver increased his speed forcing several' drivers onto to the shoulder or into the left lane.
A Barboursville Police Officer tried to stop Roberts and
he began swerving around traffic, nearly hitting several vehicles. He also increased his speed to nearly 90 miles per hour.
The complaint says Roberts threw a .25 pistol and another gun out the window, but were retrieved by officers.
Roberts refused to cooperate when stopped and had to be physically removed from his vehicle. They said he was clinching a thermos full of vodka.
According to the criminal complaint, Roberts failed three field sobriety tests and had BAC of .251.
Roberts was charged with DUI, Fleeing while DUI, and two counts of being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
In 1991, Roberts of convicted of robbery in Florida.
