One of the many goals of Energy Express is to reach out and make connections with the surrounding community.

To reach this goal, the Energy Express members selected a community service project to complete by the end of the summer.

This year's community service project will be collecting donations of school supplies (i.e. pencils, notebooks, glue, crayons, etc.) and preparing book bags for the children of Energy Express to have for the upcoming school year.

This is intended to aid in preparing the community's children for school by eliminating the parent's need to purchase school supplies themselves.

The members of Energy Express are asking for donations; any school supply is accepted. Drop-Off Boxes are located at various points in Calhoun for anyone wanting to donate supplies. They include The Y Restaurant, Dollar General, the CCCOA, Minnie Hamilton, Foodland, Calhoun Middle/High School, Calhoun County Court House and Family Dollar.

Energy Express members want to thank everyone for their donations and would like to encourage anyone who can to donate school supplies to help prepare the children of Energy Express for the 2014-2015 school year.
