Calhoun Circuit Court issued sentences, made dispositions and set several trials. Judge David W. Nibert presided.
Patricia Connell, 51, entered into a two year diversion with the State of West Virginia.
If Connell completes certain conditions, her indictment for malicious assault, first degree arson, and destruction of property will be dismissed, according to prosecutor Shannon Johnson.
The charges stem from an incident on September 6, 2012 that were investigated by trooper D. C. Moore of the West Virginia State Police.
Eric Ray Jones,22, entered a plea of guilty to burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Jones waived his right to an updated pre-sentence investigation, according to prosecutor Johnson.
The Judge suspended his sentence and ordered that Jones be placed in the Anthony Center for Youthful Offenders for a period of six months to two years.
The attorney for Jeremy Todd Saunders, 40, moved to dismiss the case against him, to suppress the evidence of the state, and to release him from incarceration.
The state moved to continue the trial against him for sexual abuse by a parent, guardian and incest.
The court granted the state's motion to continue the case, but also granted the defendant's motion for a modification of bond.
Saunders was released from Central Regional Jail on a personal recognizance bond this week, after bond had been set at $560,000 when charged in September, 2013.
The trial is set for September.
Leon Kerby moved to continue his trial on charges of child abuse resulting in injury. His trial will be in September.
Angel Bowers's case was continued to Thursday.
John Frederick Fisher's case, stemming from charges related to a clandestine methamphetamine lab, was continued to September and he was appointed another attorney.
James Scott Morford entered a guilty plea to attempt to commit possession or purchase of precursors to manufacture methamphetamine, a felony.
Morford will be sentenced on October 2.
Adam August Park's case was continued to Thursday, related to drug charges.
Matthew Rapp's trial for possession of precursors to manufacture methamphetamine was continued to September upon a motion to continue by the state.
Joshawa Whipkey's trial for possession of precursors to manufacture methamphetamine was continued to September upon a motion of the defendant.
James Robert Morsey AKA James Robert Hammonds entered a plea of guilty to possession of a stolen vehicle, a felony, and keeping a house of ill fame, a misdemeanor. (See separate story)
