James "Jim" Whit Hume of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away at 10:13 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV after an extended illness there.
He was born on March 19, 1930 in Chambersville, Collin County, TX to the late James and Clara Hume.
Jim served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1955 and specialized in Cryptology, the study of deciphering codes.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Hilda Hume and daughter Terri Amaro of Dallas, TX; 6 grandchildren, James, Jessica, Harley, Harlan, Haydon, and Hardin; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Also preceding him in death is 2 sisters, Nathalia and Nora Doll and one daughter, Cynthia.
At Jim's request, his remains have been cremated and will be returned to Texas to be buried at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, TX to be near his beloved grandfather, Simpson Whit Loftice.
Services are to be held at a later date.
