Calhoun's Jake Krack is likely performing in a new venue next Friday, October 11,
doing his accomplished fiddling with the Mid-Ohio Valley Ballet. The award winning
Krack will help open the 21st season of the ballet company, playing fiddle tunes to an
original work "Ballet meets Bluegrass."
Choreography by Suzy Gunter will compliment Krack's bluegrass fiddle tunes, and
dancers will clog, sing and dance. He will also perform some favorites for the
audience at Marietta High School, with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.
Krack has been playing the fiddle for ten years, and has been featured on West
Virginia's Mountain Stage, played at the Kennedy Center in Washington, and has been
featured on CNN and "Prairie Home Companion."
He has won dozens of contests, not only in West Virginia, but around the country. The
Calhoun High student was the youngest person to win the state competition at the
Vandalia Gathering. He has recorded numerous CD's of his work. They can be
accessed from Hur Herald links.
Tickets are available by calling toll-free 1-800-882-1148.
Krack is also scheduled to perform at the West Virginia Black Walnut Festival on
October 12 between 2-4 p.m. with Lester McCumbers and his wife, and his band.
