Leslie K. "Punkin" Marks, 97, of Walton, died Friday, June 13, 2014, in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer.
He was born December 28, 1916, at Walton, the son of the late George and Sevilla Moore Marks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Paxton Marks; son, Malcolm Marks; grandson, Douglas Jones; stepmother, Laury Marks.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kay D. and Shirley Marks of Walton; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Marks of Walton; five grandsons, Malcolm, Danny, Steve, Frankie and Brian Marks all of Walton; a granddaughter, Navorine "Noot" Patterson of Walton; 12 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Mr. Marks was a retired employee of Union Carbide Corporation, Institute and an Army veteran of World War II.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 16 in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Paul Paxton officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Marks Cemetery, Walton. Friends may call from noon until 2:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
