Erma Lou Miller Simmons, 85, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer.
She was born August 30, 1928 in Roane County, a daughter of the late Marcellus T. and Ota Romine Miller. She was a former employee of Kellwood Company and was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Spencer.
Erma is survived by a daughter, Patricia Bailey of Spencer; two sons, David Simmons of Rochester, New York and Randall Simmons of Warren, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. "Bill" Simmons; an infant daughter, Cynthia; and a sister, Erline Hughes.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Rev. Homer Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the Clover Cemetery. Visiting is two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
