| Eugene Luster Ashby, 63, of Spencer, West Virginia, died June 4, 2014, in the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
He was born October 8, 1950, in Roane County, a son of the late Luster and Dorothy Moore Ashby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Cox; and a niece, Jessica Cox.
Mr. Ashby was a retired Army veteran and a graduate of Walton High School.
Survivors include four brothers, Dennis Ashley of Boone County, Keith Ashby of Spencer, Lee Ashby of Summersville and Carl "Doug" Ashby of Gandeeville; two sisters, Eleanor Smith of Spencer and Anna Perolis of Tallmadge, Ohio; many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Brother Bill Walton officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Gandeeville Cemetery, Gandeeville. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
