| The three-vote lead by Roane County commissioner Rodney Cox, an incumbent, over challenger Tim Morgan in the Democrat race was unchanged by a canvass conducted this week in Spencer.
Five provisional ballots counted during the canvass were all Republican, and did not change the outcome, nor did four absentee ballots issued by the County Clerk not being returned.
Both candidates issued conciliatory statements to the other about the tight race.
Cox will be facing Republican Merlin Shamblin of Looneville in the fall. |
