Carolyn Burkhammer, age 76, of Big Bend, WV, departed this life at 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2014 in the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston.
She was born at Weston, Lewis County September 9, 1937, a daughter of the late Archie and Audra Dean Scott.
Carolyn loved going to auctions, yard sales, spoiling her great-grandchildren and watching western movies.
Her first husband and father of her children Jesse Moss preceded her in death.
Seven children survive Wilda Isenhart (Charles) of Fairmont WV; Danny (Rose) Moss of Wooster OH, Willard Moss of Lodi OH, Doris Moss of Grantsville WV, William (Tearese) Moss of Lorraine OH Dale (Violet) Moss of Louisburg NC, and Linda (James) Husk of Grantsville.
She is also survived by 1 special granddaughter who was her pride and joy, Chrissy; 19 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many people who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Ammon "Bud" Wendell Burkhammer; daughter Kathy Wheeler; sister Marie Wyatt, grandson Robert Joseph "Bobby Joe" Wheeler and one great-granddaughter, Kayla June Pumphrey.
Services will be held privately at the discretion of the family.
The family requests floral tributes be omitted and donations be made to help pay funeral expenses.
Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville assisted the family of Carolyn Burkhammer with arrangements.
