Forty nonprofit organizations in the Mid-Ohio Valley received grant funding from the Sisters of St. Joseph Charitable Fund (SSJCF) in support of its vision of "healthy people in healthy communities."
The SSJCF's Board of Directors approved a total of $454,628 in funding for regional projects.
The new Arnoldsburg Elementary School received a $15,000 grant for new playground equipment.
Holy Redeemer Catholic Church; Spencer, WV - $3,500 to support Calhoun, Wirt, and Roane County residents in times of emergency.
KVC Health Systems; Olathe, KS - $3,000 for needs of children newly placed in foster care in Jackson, Roane, Calhoun, Wirt, and Wood Counties.
Crittenton Services, Inc.; Wheeling, WV - $3,000 for therapists providing basic services to high risk children/families in Wood and Wirt counties.
Holy Redeemer Catholic Church; Spencer, WV - $3,500 to support Calhoun, Wirt, and Roane County residents in times of emergency.
Tri-County Partnership; Spencer, WV - $2,500 to support the Wirt County Meals to Go project which provides children with nutritious meals during holiday breaks.
Wirt County Health Services Association, Inc.; Ravenswood, WV -- $5,000 for equipment needs for dental services.
R Fine House Inc.; Spencer, WV - $6,000 to support their business planning and architectural consultant needs
CASA of the Fifth Judicial Circuit, Inc.; Ripley, WV - $12,000 to train and supervise volunteer advocates in Jackson and Roane Counties.
Little Kanawha Resource Conservation & Development; Waverly, WV - $15,000 to replace the roof on the Project Sharing warehouse.
The Sisters of St. Joseph Charitable Fund promotes healthy and sustainable communities by providing resources, strengthening collaborative relationships and supporting initiatives that impact people in the Mid-Ohio Valley. The next due date to submit is July 23, 2014.
