WVU Calhoun County Extension Service is offering two chances to learn and participate about, Scouting for Pests in Your Garden and Making Old Recipes Healthier, during the monthly Extension Road Show, on Wednesday, May 28.
Louisa Chapel in Arnoldsburg, starting at 9:30 a.m., and First Baptist Church in Grantsville, starting at 2 p.m.
Now that spring is finally here and we have started planting our gardens, learn about the types and kinds of pests that can ruin your gardening experience. 'Scouting for Pest in Your Garden' will cover common insects and diseases that occur in West Virginia Gardens. This class will help you identify these pests as well as give you control options to help save your vegetables.
'Making Old Recipes Healthier' will assist participants in taking those old family recipes and making them healthier. There will be a Garden Recipe Exchange, so bring a sample of your favorite recipe to share with other participants, index cards will be available for you to record the recipes you would like to use at home.
RSVP is requested but not necessary. For questions about the Extension Road Show contact the WVU Calhoun County Extension Office at 304-354-6332.
