Elwanda M. Conley, 75, of Newton, West Virginia, died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at
home.
She was born March 5, 1927 , at Elana, a daughter of the late Homer John Harold and the late
Nancy Audra Tawney Wilson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Zion Hill Baptist
Church, Elana.
Survivors include her husband, Brooks R. Conley, whom she married November 23, 1945;
three daughters, Margaret Ann Hines of Brookville, FL, Barbara Kay McClain and Marilyn Jane
Conley both of Newton; one son, Robert Allen Conley of Newton; one sister, Betty Lou
Greathouse of Newton; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son, Gary Brooks Conley; grandson,
Robert Allen Conley, II; four brothers, Ross S. and Richard B. Wilson and John M. and Roy L
Harold.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, September 27 at 10 a.m. in the John H. Taylor
Funeral Home Spencer, WV. Pastor Gary Drake will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Hill
Cemetery, Elana. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
