Arnold Edward Murray, 79, of Reedy, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer, West Virginia.
He was born October 13, 1934 in Reedy, a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Ottie Mae Greathouse Murray.
He was retired from Monarch Rubber with 35 years of service, loved hunting, fishing, and farming and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a son, Doug (Michele) of Reedy; his caregiver Diane Taylor of Grantsville, West Virginia; another son, Jason of Grantsville; three grandchildren, Johnathan, Zaylah, and Monique; and two great-grandchildren, Blake and Drew.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Nathaniel and Benjamin; four sisters, Edna Prine, Lorene Nicoles and two infants; and a brother, C. Olen Murray.
Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME in Spencer with Pastor Barry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Reedy. Visiting will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
